Built for Speed

Built For Speed was written by John Griffith, and published by Temple Press Books in 1965. Famous for his expertise in the field of racing motorcycles, the author has selected 24 machines of special interest, and described them in minute detail.

If you want to know the valve timings used for successful record attempts, they’re in this book!- helped by information given by the racing teams themselves. John Surtees, for example, supplied much of the information on the four-cylinder M.V. models.

From the last “works” Nortons, through the 24-hour record Velocette, to AJS’s famous Porcupine, all the “dream machines” of the day are here, in 88 pages of information with over 80, largely photographic, illustrations, in a book measuring approx. 5”x8”.

Perfect for the lucky owner who wants to get the optimum performance from his machine, no enthusiast’s library is complete without this!
